A few comments... First, I have perused the online user manual and am at least a bit surprised to find that you're right - the standard output just doesn't do much of anything on this instrument, which seems kind of a shame. Must be some good technical reason for that, though. Second, your thread is in the wrong subforum to get proper attention. Better post this in the Parker Classifed subforum instead. Third, I sure wish I could buy this bad boy from you myself, but it's a tad out of my reach. ;) Good luck!

Hi Carolyn - do you not have a GR or VG unit for synth or guitar modelling?
Both these units let you a) use the 13-pin output for synth/modelling and b) split out the mormal guitar signal.
Dennis - the electronics engineer who built the internals of the Belew model , built them exactly to Adrian's specification.
I have a couple of other midi guitars and the guitar output is both separate (from the jack socket) and combined ( output down the 13-pin cable) .
You can try contact Parker and see if they or Dennis could mod this for you. Andy Innes  - one of our other foum members had a midi-enabled model built with separate signals - but this was using a seperate Roland GK pickup - rather than the RMC saddles on the Belew.
Failing that - if you bump this thread to classifieds section - you may well have some interest - I'm very very tempted myself - but 6500 USD is a little high for me. Is the Musician's Friend warranty transferable to another buyer do you know?
I live in the UK.

Yes, I did put it in the classifieds. It does seem a shame to sell it, but I don't want to feel bogged down by excess equipment when I travel, especially if I have to deal with voltage issues and multiple flights. I have had gear lost and damaged..I like to travel light these days.

I will see about the warranty being transferable.

Stevie...excellent suggestion...I will try and do that. It would be a shame to sell it just because it requires me to always have a synth...but I am buying one.

Yes - all roland GR models are 13-pin driven
You ar ebetter using a guitar amp for teh Guitar and an acoutsic amp or PA for teh synth out - teh gR has 2 outputs - one for each feed
however  - teh GRs have a button to siwtch syth output between lIne ( PA/acoustic amp) or Guitar Amp (it adjusts the frequency response to compensate for the fact guitar amps emphasis some frequencies and suppress others
So you can use with jusat one amp.
You would obviously need one with separate clean and dirty channels inputs - else teh synth sound will distort when you switch to the dirty channel . You may like that sound tho !

So do you recommend the GR 20? I heard that the reviews were bad...

Reviews are bad?
I have a GR33 - more pedals - but more control - sounds are usable. The main reason peoepl complain is tracking - and that's the guitar's fault not the synth.
The Belew tracks really well - I've tried one !
