| Yep, that's the bass. I've got lots of old brochures, pics, etc. but no scanner and I'm on dial-up. Alex, want me to send you some "stuff" on loan? |

Yea I could scan it and post it on my web site. If that is OK. I sent you my address in an earlier email let me know if you need me to send it again.

I am selling one of my Parker 5's (natural, mint condition), as I might try and buy a new Parker acoustic fretless bass. Contact me at jay@jayterrien.com before I put it on Ebay.

Marvin, Mick is also looking for an older 5string. I was trying to buy his Nylon so he had cash for a 5 string but he was looking to trade.

I think you're right. After posting I took note of the date and added things up, no way to make the publication date of that mag.!! Plus I painted the bass in the mag. shortly after I got to Parkers in the basement of fishmans which would have been late 91' |

That last photo looks like the Steve Swallow bass.

I played the original Parker Bass...and the first run of prototype guitars when Ken first unveiled them. I was the editor of one of the major music trade magazines at the time and got a call from my pals at Korg USA to come to their HQ on Long Island. They had them all set up in the demo room. You can imagine how "alien" they looked and felt at the time. I think I actually wrote the first magazine mention EVER on Parker. If I recall, I put one of the cover of the issue at the time.
I have to look through my archives to find it. I know somewhere I have photos I shot of that original run of prototypes. I may even have a group shot with Ken, etc. in it. I'm sure I have them "somewhere" here in my stacks of files. |

Now that Parker has reportedly discontinued those bogus basses they've been selling, I wonder if they might devote some resources to producing one worthy of the name. I'd love to have something like that prototype:

Cool.
Think how great it would be to have a 5 pound bass.
